Research Officer - Universal Access
Roosbelinda provides technical support for monitoring and evaluation in the area of universal access to sexual and reproductive health, with a focus on safe abortion. She coordinates and develops proposals for research studies, identifies opportunities to publish research results, and develops evaluation strategies and tools for cross-area initiatives on universal access, safe abortion, and gender-based violence.
Prior to IPPF/WHR, Roosbelinda was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Rutgers University in its Center for Race and Ethnicity. She was also a researcher for the University of Manchester and the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, and worked on genomic science and race in Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia.
Roosbelinda received a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She holds a Masters of Latin American Studies from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Anthropology/Sociology and Economics from Swarthmore College.
