Vice-Chair of the Board
Lidia is a Chilean Doctor in Law, attorney, professor, and researcher, currently serving as Director of the Center for Human Rights of the Diego Portales University in Chile. She has worked in several civil society spaces in Chile, advocating for sexual and reproductive rights. Since 1994, she has worked actively in issues related to sexual and reproductive health, including a vast experience in the academic field and as a litigator to guarantee access to emergency contraception in Chile. She has worked in multi-disciplinary teams and collaborated with different civil society organizations and the feminist movement in Chile.
She has been a member of the WHO Gender and Rights Advisory Panel (GAP), and she received the IPPF/WHR Dedication to the Cause Award in 2001 for her work in defending family planning. In 2017, she received the Outstanding Woman Award in Chile, presented by the Comunidad Mujer Organization, for the promotion of women’s rights.
She is a member of the Asociación Chilena de Protección de la Familia – APROFA since 2002, and she is renowned by multiple organization in the America.
