Regional Advocacy Officer
Laura has been with IPPF/WHR since 2009. She leads the two advocacy initiatives – Joining Forces for Voices and Accountability and Budget Transparency and Reproductive Health – promoting government accountability on commitments regarding sexual and reproductive health and rights. Laura's experience includes conducting training workshops with IPPF/WHR's Member Associations to plan national advocacy projects on issues such as the incorporation of budget work and government accountability into their strategies, budget training, and project management.
Before joining IPPF/WHR, Laura worked in Argentina for different NGOs. She spent most of her time with Centro de Implementación de Políticas Públicas para la Equidad y el Crecimiento, where she monitored the national and local budgets and created strategic alliances with governments to improve transparency and accountability. She has also worked in other Latin American countries training grassroots organizations on how to understand, analyze, and track budgetary and policy making processes.
Laura holds a BA in Economics from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, Argentina, and a Master of Social Development from University College of London, England.
