As member of the Youth, Gender, and Rights team, Jimena is responsible for supporting the implementation of the regional strategy regarding gender-based violence. She provides technical assistance to our Member Associations and works collaboratively with them to strengthen their capacity to prevent and respond to gender-based violence.
Before joining IPPF/WHR, Jimena worked for Global Medic Force coordinating mentoring programs on best practices related to HIV/AIDS treatment for healthcare providers in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. She has experience in human rights and worked extensively with the Mexican community living in the United States on health and educational issues.
Jimena holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She also has a Master of Public Health and a Master of International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University.
