Sharing Expertise and Best Practices
In Latin America and the Caribbean, statistics on economic growth mask glaring inequalities that exist within and among countries. The organizations in our network exemplify this trend and operate at significantly different capacities. That’s why we work to strengthen our 41 Member Associations by facilitating the exchange of information and expertise among our partners in the region.
Our network boasts experts in a variety of areas, including human rights, medicine, program evaluation, clinic systems, financial sustainability, and communications. These experts provide technical assistance to foster and fortify successful programs, systems, and strategies. During the exchange, an expert from one Member Association will train the staff at another Member Association that has requested assistance.
During an exchange between Profamilia Colombia and Asociación Demográfica Salvadoreña (ADS) in El Salvador, every ADS health provider received training from Profamilia on how to engage with youth in a warm and open manner. As a result of implementing Profamilia’s youth-friendly service model, ADS increased its services to young people by 95% the following year.
