I am writing to ask that you vote against the Ellmers Anti-Women Bill, H.R. 2059, which would end essential U.S. contributions to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

UNFPA provides sexual and reproductive health care to women and their families in about 150 countries. These vital health services—including family planning, care during pregnancy and childbirth, and HIV prevention—reach millions each year and are essential for ensuring healthy families and strong communities.

Supporting UNFPA is not only the right thing to do; it’s the smart thing to do: fulfilling the global unmet need for family planning would save $1.5 billion and reduce maternal deaths by more than two-thirds. Furthermore, research has shown that the majority of Americans support international funding for these programs.

I care deeply about ensuring that women have access to the tools and information they need to protect their health and exercise their rights. As your constituent, I ask that you stand with the majority of Americans and vote against H.R. 2059.
