Asociación Demográfica Salvadoreña (ADS) is the largest sexual and reproductive health NGO in El Salvador. It has the technical and administrative capacity to provide coverage in different areas of the country, with an important emphasis on rural areas. The association sees its niche as serving adolescents, rural populations and those who are not satisfied with the services they receive in the public sector. One of ADS's comparative advantages is its network of clinics and laboratories, which are strategically placed in 8 of the 14 departments in the country, as well as its large network of rural community–based services, which provides ADS with a presence in all 14 departments. ADS provided a total of 447,416 services in 2007.

The association does not receive any external financing and therefore social programs are funded entirely through cross-subsidization; the association’s leadership has identified youth younger than 25 as a priority target group and has recently undertaken efforts to strengthen youth participation.  In 2008, ADS was invited by the IPPF/WHR Regional Office to take part in a project to increase access to contraceptives, including condoms, among young people in rural areas.
