Senior Program Officer - Access
As a member of IPPF/WHR's team for 14 years, Alejandra has been responsible for the youth, adolescents, and access units. Her responsibilities have included program coordination, management of grants, policy advocacy, and networking in the area of sexual and reproductive rights. In her current position, she oversees programs for increasing access to and education about emergency contraception, and improving access to cervical cancer prevention and treatment in the region. Alejandra also provides technical assistance to Member Associations on sexual rights and promoting the IPPF Sexual Rights Declaration.
Alejandra is an active member of the Latin American Consortium for Emergency Contraception and Cervical Cancer Action, among other networks. She is living in Africa and monitors the implementation of a pilot project in Uganda on increasing safe abortion services.
Alejandra holds a Master's degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, with a concentration of women and development, from New York University.
