Joining Forces for Voice and Accountability

Voice focuses on holding national governments accountable to their commitments to achieving universal access to reproductive health and gender equality as necessary prerequisites for eradicating extreme poverty by 2015. Through this project, we seek to improve the capacity of civil society (including IPPF Member Associations) to influence key decision makers and create policy change regarding sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) issues.

A Promise is a Promise

Universal access to reproductive health is key to achieving the Millennium Development Goals. MDG 5, particularly 5b, is the most off-track of all MDGs, yet the critical importance of reproductive health to development has been widely acknowledged. IPPF has launched a year-long initiative to raise awareness among decision-makers on the existence and urgency of MDG 5b, and on the gaps and challenges impeding its achievement.

2009 Annual Report

In 2009, our Member Associations provided more than 28.1 million sexual health and reproductive services via innovative projects that catered to the unique needs, customs, and laws of each region. IPPF/WHR projects are diverse—this year’s annual report highlights initiatives advocating at the United Nations for universal reproductive rights, helping vulnerable street youth, stopping unsafe and clandestine abortions and tackling the HIV crisis. We made considerable progress last year, and we hope you will download the 2009 Annual Report.

As one of the Code's original signatories and members of the current Steering Committee, IPPF has integrated its good practice principles into our work and actively promotes the Code around the world.
