¡Basta! Women Say No to Violence

Gender-based violence is any act or threat of physical, sexual or psychological aggression against a woman. According to the World Health Organization, one out of every four women reports having been a victim of sexual violence perpetrated by an intimate partner.

Considering that violence can have harmful effects on a woman’s health, particularly her sexual and reproductive health, the International Planned Parenthood Federation/Western Hemisphere Region developed a regional project to combat gender-based violence in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This video was created as a tool to sensitize health care providers and the general public about the issue of violence against women.
