On February 13th, the Executive Director of FAMPLAN Jamaica, Rachel Ustanny, made a guest appearance on the morning television show Smile Jamaica to promote the country's Safer Sex Week, held February 12th to 18th. Valentine's Day presents a big opportunity for our Member Association to promote the need for young people to engage in safer sex practices, such as wearing a condom to prevent unplanned pregnancy and HIV infection.
During the program, Ustanny mentions that FAMPLAN is celebrating the recent opening of a new family medical clinic in Montego Bay. This clinic provides a variety of sexual and reproductive health services, with special attention given to youth. FAMPLAN's work not only to helps protect young people from STIs, HIV, and unwanted pregnancies, but also empowers youth with information to make safer and healthier decisions.
