International Year of Youth Draws to a Close

Last week marked the end of the UN’s International Year of Youth. 

Young people, advocates and government officials from Manila to Houston held celebrations and events designed to raise awareness about the needs of the largest-ever youth generation. 

Over the next few days, we’ll be posting our favorite blogs and videos, as well as interesting facts, about youth health and rights issues.  For example, did you know that:

Nearly 30% of the population in Latin America and the Carribean is under the age of 15?

Nearly 25% of adolescent girls in Peru have had their first sexual experience by the age of 15, often without accurate information or access to reproductive health services?
