Gloria comes from a small, impoverished village in Bolivia. She was trained by CIES, IPPF’s Member Association in Bolivia, as a Community Health Educator. With the support of CIES, Gloria trained for four years to become a nurse and joined CIES’ Mobile Health Unit Project. Gloria sees herself as a powerful example of what women can achieve if provided with the right resources.

15andCounting is a campaign coordinated by the International Planned Parenthood Federation to raise awareness of the rights and needs of young people throughout the 15th anniversary year of the landmark International Conference on Population and Development (1994).
Cairo + 15 Years: Countdown Towards the Implementation of the ICPD Program of Action
Five years remain for governments to fully implement the Programme of Action agreed at the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) held in Cairo in 1994. The experiences and outcomes of the last 15 years represent an urgent call for attention to prioritize and intensify the efforst to accomplish the intended program goals, with an emphasis on sexual and reproductive rights.

As one of the Code's original signatories and members of the current Steering Committee, IPPF has integrated its good practice principles into our work and actively promotes the Code around the world.
